Ethereal textured wing earrings, made with hand beaten stainless steel at Nic’s studio in Cornwall.
These ‘Gossamer Naiad’ drop earrings feature fine filigree detail and have a strong Art Nouveau influence. Perfectly lightweight, Nic crafts the beautiful hammered texture by beating the metal on a series of anvils to achieve a unique twinkling finish.
The Gossamer collection is inspired by delicate, woodland forms, the half light of dawn and dusk. These ethereal wings are inspired by ‘Naiads’ an ancient Greek female water nymph, represented as beautiful, light hearted and beneficent. Naiads have been the romantic subject of many art forms for centuries and are associated with rivers, lakes and other inland waterways.
