I love Bianca’s beautiful handpainted wooden jewellery and I love ferns, so these necklaces (and the matching earrings) are the perfect combination for me! These necklaces are made using real fern fronds from her garden, carefully pressed then stencilled around in a sparkly gold paint. The wood is American Black Walnut, which comes to her as offcuts from a local furniture maker. It’s such a beautiful dark coloured wood which complements the gold , and she is able to make use of these small pieces which would otherwise be burned. Each necklace comes in a lovely branded gift box. The wood is finished with polish made locally from olive oil and high welfare beeswax.
Size: 230mm recycled sterling silver chain hand made by Bianca. The painted wood is approximately 10mm wide and 45mm long.
These wooden necklaces are made to a high standard, and will happily deal with a drop of rain, but please don’t wear them while swimming or in the shower – wood and water are not the best of friends! Also do your best to keep them away from perfumes and cosmetics which may discolour and damage your jewellery.
